What is Underfloor Hydronic Heating?

Underfloor Hydronic heating works by circulating warm water through a network of polyethylene piping laid in the floor spreading clean evenly distributed heat throughout the home or workplace.

Comfort

Underfloor heating has the rare ability to be able to create a constant temperature distribution throughout an area. Because of this, it is as simple as setting the temperature you require and it will remain constant, gently and evenly warming the home environment. It produces radiant heat without causing the dryness normally associated with ducted heating.

Flexibility

With the floor as a large heat emitter, only low temperatures (35-60˚C) are required to heat the water. The water heating can be provided by almost any energy source, including renewable sources such as solar, and of course, gas.

Design Freedom

No air ducts or protruding heating units are visible providing for complete freedom in space design.

Energy Efficient

Because underfloor heating warms your body and not the entire air mass, the temperature within the area can be maintained at 1-2˚C lower. This already equates to huge savings on energy. The efficiency of modern day boilers also has a large impact, only maintaining the temperature of the water rather than constantly heating it. Underfloor heating is also a perfect candidate to be solar powered because of its low operating temperatures, almost completely eliminating the need for additional energy consumption.

Demand Heating

Because of a major shift in consumer’s awareness and expectations of energy efficient products, as well as dramatic advances in energy efficient building designs, demand heating is no longer required. Just turn it on and leave it on. This is by far the most economical form of modern heating.

Minimal Maintenance

Simple operating procedures and minimal mechanical equipment means the system requires almost zero maintenance.

Safety and Health Benefits

Underfloor heating means warm and dry floors, which inhibit the growth of house dust mites, which are known to affect asthma and allergy sufferers.
