Supreme Heating’s Solar Hydronic Storage Tanks, also known as buffer tanks, are built to be used with this type of system only. They are custom made to incorporate the unique heat exchanger coils that are essentially the heart of your solar hydronic system. These coils are positioned exactly to optimize the overall performance and are encased in either vitreous enamel or stainless steel with heavy insulation to minimize heat loss. The purpose of the buffer tanks is to store the hot water that is produced during daylight hours and distribute that throughout the building into the night when the heating is still in high demand. The minimum size of these storage tanks is 450 litres but could exceed 4000 litres depending on the size of the building that needs to be heated.
